Orchid Garden

Some of the highlights from our lovely visit to Singapore's Orchid Garden.

This hybrid is dubbed the Nelson Mandella Orchid.

Pitcher plants. The plaque beside it read: "Once inside the pitcher, the insects are trapped. They cannot climb out, because the wall is slippery with wax, and the rim of the pitcher has an overhanging row of teeth. Finally, the insects drown in the fluid in the pitcher." Sometimes I am amazed by Heavenly Father's creations. This one is absolutely brilliant!
